Commercial Transactions to Grow in Amirabad Port SEZ
In the first ten months of the current Iranian Year, the entry of various types of cargos into Amirabad Port registered a growth of 10 percent, compared to the similar period last year.

The Port and Maritime Director General and the Head of Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Amirabad Port elaborated: "The volume of cargos entering this port in the mentioned period grew from 1,341,000 tons in the previous Iranian Year to 1,473,000 tons."

He then pointed to the 3-percent growth in the number of ships visiting that port and announced the berthing of some 654 different types of vessels in Amirabad Port by December 2015.

Mr. Ali Khedmatgozar further discussed about grains imports growing by
24 percent, and explained that in the first ten months of the current Iranian Year, some 1,263,325 tons of different grains had been discharged in that port. Out of that amount, some 702,443 tons had been barley and some 456,835 tons wheat (with having grown by 46 and 34 percents respectively), while the remaining 104,047 tons had included corn and other agricultural and husbandry products.

He continued by announcing the 32-percent growth in importing various petrochemical products, and emphasized: "By late December 2015, some 28,661 tons of different petrochemical products, namely oil coal and base oil, had entered this northeastern sea port of the country."

The Port and Maritime Director General and the Head of Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Amirabad Port concluded: "Some 3,070,000 tons of different cargos were loaded or discharged in the ports of Amirabad and Neka by late December 2015."
