Waste Reception from Ships

Upon the entry of vessel into the port, the Pollution Response Department delivers the Waste Discharge Application Form to the Master through the agent in order to manage and plan for waste reception, and then receives the completed form along with other required documents to be transferred to the waste reception contractor.

The Waste Discharge Application Form should be submitted by the agent to the Maritime Affairs Department of the port, within 24 hours of the vessel's arrival.

The relevant inspector(s) would then measure the amount of waste on the ship and inform the contractor for their reception. The ship will be inspected again after waste delivery and the relevant certificate will be issued.

The costs of services provided to the ship will then be communicated by the Maritime Affairs Department, through the Financial Affairs Department, to the ship agent for payment (waste reception costs are included in the port charges).
