Geographical position

The Caspian Sea in the north, the provinces of Tehran and Semnan in the south, the provinces of Gilan in the west and province Golestan, are located in the east of the Mazandaran province. According to the latest divisions of a country , Mazandaran has 20 counties called Amol, Babol, Babolsar, Behshahr, Tonekabon, Joybar, Chalous, Ramsar, Sari, Savadkouh, Simorgh, Ghaemshahr, Golghah, Mahmoudabad, Meydroud, Neka, Noor, Noshahr, Fereydounenkar and Abbas Abad and also has 56 city , 48 , 113 district and 3697 villages. Climate of the Mazandaran is Moderate and humidity climate (known as Caspian moderate climate). the main reasons of the moderate climate is vicinity of Alborz mountains in the south, next to the sea and plant coverage. According to archaeological research, the Caspian Sea is one of the most important centers of prehistoric, historical and Islamic civilization in Iran. According to the scientific excavations, the cave of Al-Tapeh (about 12500 BC) and the caves of Hutu and the Kamarband (dating back to 9,500 BCE), as the oldest shelters in the early humans in the region have been identified.

Miankaleh International Wetland

The Miankale Peninsula is located in the southeast part of the Caspian Sea and northeast of Behshahr city, 50 km from the city center. Its area is 68,800 hectares and its height is 20 meters below the open sea level. It is identified by the International Organization for the Study of Bird Life covered by a range of coastal sand, swampy areas, watersheds, and forest covered known as an important area for birds life. There are 126 species of aquatic birds in this area that 40 species of which are internationally important and support the generative centers of Agrita, Heron, Parastoo and Gralylol during the summer season. In addition to birds, mammals such as jackal, pig, forest cat and jaw of the Caspian Sea are living there. Nearby attractions includes Amir Abad port, Abbas Abad Historical and Natural History Complex and Emarat spring .

Abbas abad historical complex

Abbas Abad Historical Complex is located 9 km south-east of Behshahr city next to the village of Al-tapeh that includes floored gardens, bath, two brick towers, water pipelines route, paved roads, water mill, Golbagh area (water distribution station),possible palace location, industrial centers, dam and four platform of dam reservoir center. The construction of This complex is ordered by the Shah Abbas Kabir and constructed by the Iranian architects of the Safavi era from 1020 to 1021 AH .

Historical cemetery of Sefid chah

This cemetery is located in the south of the town of Galogah next to the village of Sefidchah. several thousand of stone tablets are standing in the cemetery with different designs so that they look distantly in a black crowd in the lines. Figure , photography and sometimes the instruments of the deceased's person based on gender has often craved on tombstones . Some tombstones date back to the late Safavi period.

This park is located in the Behshar city center and includes old cedar tree, rocky water and numerous pools.. It was constructer by the order of Shah Abbas Safavi .

Museum of Gohar Tappeh

Gohreh Tappeh is one of the largest and most important historic al sites on the margins of the Caspian Sea, which Its studies was began by Iranian archaeologists in 2001. This site is located 10 km west of the city of Behshahr. It has civilization layers from prehistoric times (5500 years ago) to the first millennium BC.
archaeologists believed that this area belongs to the city of prehistoric times because of exploring the site's archeology, discovering part of the residential architecture, the industrial space of the cemetery and the fence of a large collection. the site has been protected as a museum site and archaeologists from Germany and Poland are exploring with the Iranian archaelogists since 2005.
One of the largest and most important historical sites on the periphery of the Caspian Sea, which its study began in 2001 by Iranian archaeologists.

Historical complex of Farah Abad

Farah Abad Historical Complex is located about 30 to 40 hectares in an approximate distance of 28 kilometers from the city of Sari. Its name dates back to the historical writings of Tahān, and first Shah Abbas Safavi built it with the construction of a bridge, palace, bathroom, mosque and school and named it Farah Abad complex.

5-Kolbadi museum

Kolbadi mansion was built for his son Amir Nusrat by the order of Major General Jalil of the Army during the late Qajar era. Amir Nusrata died in a young age and the major general Jalil gave it to his son Manouchehr Khan.
Manuchehr Khan Kolbadi was member of the parliament of Sari in the National council parliament. He died in 1983 and then The building was owned to the Cultural Heritage Organization in 1991. On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Iran Islamic revolution, the Museum of Traditional Arts, Crafts and Archeology was opened at the Kobbadi Historic Mansion in Sari in 2009. The museum is located in downtown of Sari in a neighborhood called the Bargh cross road.
The architecture of this building is taken from the school of Isfahan and the Qajar era. This mansion has two internal and external sections and The main building of this mansion is built in two floors and a cradle in each floor has a king room and rooms on each side. The king room of second floor is decorated with sashes and Chinese knot windows and is the most beautiful rooms in the building. The materials of this building include wood, brick, clay and roofs in the form of gables and pottery.
In addition to the residential section, this mansion has stalls, kitchen, crew residence and bathroom Which has already been changed.
The bathroom consists of two parts: cold and warm departments and there are cold and hot water in the warm department .
A variety of works of traditional arts, crafts, anthropology, and archeology have been displayed at the Museum of Kolbadi. The ancient objects of this museum with 7000 years old in the variety of pottery, metal and glass from prehistory to late Qajar period, is a symbol of culture and past of Iran and Mazandaran province.
